  Our overall experience of the Hotel and surrounding area was very good. The location was Beautiful and quite easy to get to. People were very friendly and helpful.

  A real shame; what could be a cracking place is ruined by the incredibly rude staff. The elderly gentleman who served us did so with apparent contempt. I actually thought he was joking and that he would crack a joke at some point but no, he just was an incredibly rude man. We were going to stay for another drink - simply because we were sat outside in the sun but decided the business didn't deserve another £10-£15 for a round of drinks.
  I doubt any staff read the reviews as if you would you would see a large number of completely dissatisfied customers but if you are; you simply can not keep relying on the 'Heartbeat' days and tourism (2 of our number had never heard of it) you can't treat customers as if they have staggered into your personal living space and demanded drinks; you're a business and need paying customers. We certainly won't ever return and am not surprised at the large number of negative reviews. You genuinely have the worst customer service I've ever experienced; you're not doing justice to what should be an incredible bar and B&B or to the local economy of Goathland.

  Cracking bar! Friendly accommodating staff and a fine selection of beers. Wild definitely go back.
